Your Life Path number is numerology’s core signature โ calculated from your full date of birth, it describes the themes, strengths and lessons woven through your whole life. Enter your birth date below; the calculation and full meaning appear instantly. โจ
Numerology reduces your birth date to a single digit (or master number 11, 22, 33). Each part of the date โ year, month, day โ is reduced separately, then summed and reduced again. Example: March 25, 1994 โ month 3, day 2+5=7, year 1+9+9+4=23โ5; total 3+7+5=15โ6, the Nurturer.
If a step lands exactly on 11, 22 or 33, the reduction stops โ these master numbers carry amplified potential and pressure. They are rare by construction, so if you got one, read carefully.

The system this calculator uses is universally called Pythagorean numerology, and the name is marketing. Pythagoras left no writings at all โ everything attributed to him comes through later followers โ and there is no ancient source assigning meanings to birth dates the way modern numerology does. The system you are using was assembled in the United States barely a century ago. L. Dow Balliett laid out the letter-to-number table in The Philosophy of Numbers (1908), and Juno Jordan, who ran the California Institute of Numerical Research from the 1930s, standardised the calculations into the form nearly every numerology book still repeats. That is a real lineage with real authors. It is simply not a Greek one, and knowing that saves you from arguing with someone who read the same repackaged claim.
Practitioners split into two camps. One reduces month, day and year separately and then sums the three results โ the method used above. The other adds every digit of the date in one string and reduces that. Books have been written treating this as a serious doctrinal divide.
Arithmetically it barely is one. Reducing digits repeatedly gives you the digital root, which is just the number modulo 9, and modular arithmetic does not care whether you add the parts first or last. Both methods therefore land on the same final digit every time. The only place they can ever disagree is over master numbers: whether an 11 or a 22 appearing at an intermediate step is preserved or collapsed. That is the entire dispute. If a numerologist tells you the other method gives a different Life Path, ask them for a date where it does.
Worth sitting with before you take any result too literally. The Gregorian calendar was not adopted everywhere at once โ Britain and its colonies switched in 1752 and deleted eleven days to do it, Russia switched in 1918, Greece in 1923. Anyone born under the old calendar has two valid birth dates and therefore two valid Life Paths. Time zones do the same thing on a smaller scale: a birth at 11:40 pm in Vancouver is already the next day in Toronto. And the day itself is a civil record, set by whoever filled in the form, which in older registrations was frequently a day or two off.
None of that invalidates the exercise. It does mean the number is a lens you chose, not a fact the universe stamped on you, and a practice built on that understanding survives contact with reality much better.
The useful part of a Life Path reading is almost never the flattering paragraph. It is the friction: every number in this system has a cost written into it, and that cost is usually the shadow side of the trait people compliment you for. The 8 who builds is the 8 who measures worth in output. The 2 who keeps peace is the 2 who cannot state a preference. The 7 who understands everything is the 7 who explains their way around feeling anything.
Read your number, find the cost sentence, and test it against last month rather than against your self-image. If it doesn’t fit, discard it โ a framework you argue with is doing more for you than one you agree with automatically. Then compare it against your Expression number, which is calculated from an entirely different input; where the two disagree is where numerologists say the interesting life happens.
Calculate your core numbers using classical Pythagorean reduction, then journal how the themes show up in your actual habits.
